Our services

Every animal is different, and every journey is planned that way, we tailor each relocation to your pet’s breed, size, health, and destination.

Air Pet Relocation

The fastest way across continents, handled with precision.

International air travel is the most efficient way to move your pet over long distances, and when managed by specialists, it’s safe and well-regulated. We coordinate every detail — from selecting the right airline and booking confirmed space, to supplying IATA-compliant crates and managing every document at origin and destination.

Ground Pet Transport

Comfortable, calm, and continuously monitored, overland.

For many pets, the road is simply the better option. Snub-nosed breeds, giant dogs, anxious animals, elderly pets, or those restricted from air travel all tend to travel far more comfortably overland. Our purpose-built, climate-controlled vehicles are designed entirely around animal welfare, not repurposed cargo vans.

Door-to-Door White Glove Package

We manage everything. You just pack your own bags.

Our most complete service; a single specialist manages your pet’s entire relocation from home collection to new-home delivery. No coordination on your part, no chasing vets or airlines, no paperwork stress. Just regular updates and a happy arrival.

Testimonials

James & Priya O.

We had a dog, two cats, and a rabbit to move from Nairobi to Canada. I genuinely didn’t think it was possible in one go. Nomad Pet Relocations coordinated three different transport methods simultaneously and kept us updated on each animal individually. Miracle workers.

Katarina V.

Try finding someone willing to move a 65kg Leonberger from Munich to Istanbul. Most companies said no. Nomad Pet said ‘we’ve done bigger.’ Two days of ground transport, four rest stops, a GPS link on my phone the whole time. Ludwig arrived wagging.

Daniel F.

My company moved me from Singapore to Johannesburg with six weeks’ notice. I was terrified about what that meant for my two cats. Nomad Pet had a full plan in my inbox within 48 hours of my first email. They handled everything — I just packed my own bags.

WHO WE ARE

About us

We’re Pet People First.

Nomad Pet Relocations was founded on one simple belief: moving abroad shouldn’t mean leaving your family behind.
We’re a team of animal lovers, logistics specialists, and relocation experts who have been through international moves ourselves, with pets in tow. We know what it feels like to hand your dog or cat to a stranger and trust them to get safely to the other side of the world.
That’s why we do things differently. Every client gets a dedicated specialist. Every quote is transparent and itemised. And every pet, no matter the species, breed, or destination, is treated with the same level of care we’d want for our own.

🐾 Pre-Travel Tips : Preparing Your Pet for International Travel

Start crate training early : introduce the travel crate 6–8 weeks before departure so it becomes a safe, familiar space rather than a stressful one.
Keep vaccination records updated : most countries require rabies vaccinations to be completed at least 21–30 days before travel, and some require an annual booster within 12 months.
Visit your vet for a pre-travel check : a health certificate is legally required for most international moves and must be issued within a specific window (often 7–10 days before travel).
Don’t sedate your pet for the journey : vets and airlines advise against sedation as it can interfere with breathing at altitude. Discuss calming alternatives with your vet.
Pack a comfort item : a familiar blanket or toy with your scent in the crate helps reduce anxiety during transit.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • How far in advance should I start planning my pet’s relocation?

We recommend starting at least 4–6 months before your planned move date. Countries like Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Singapore, and the UK have strict preparation timelines, some requiring 3–6 months of advance vet work before your pet is even eligible to travel. For simpler routes, 6–8 weeks is workable, but earlier is always better and significantly less stressful.

  • My dog is a brachycephalic (snub-nosed) breed. Can they fly?

Many airlines restrict or outright ban snub-nosed breeds, including Bulldogs, French Bulldogs, Pugs, Boxers, Boston Terriers, Shih Tzus, Pekingese, and flat-faced cats like Persians, in the hold due to breathing risk at altitude. Where air travel is not safe or permitted, our ground transport service is often the ideal solution. We’ll advise you honestly on the best option for your specific breed during your free consultation.

  • Is it safe for my pet to travel in the hold of an aircraft?

Yes, when handled professionally. Commercial aircraft holds are pressurised and temperature-controlled to the same standards as the passenger cabin. We select airlines with strong live-animal handling records, plan routes to minimise connection times, and avoid travel during extreme heat or cold windows. The vast majority of pets travel without incident. We’ll never book a route we wouldn’t be comfortable with ourselves.

  • What documents does my pet need to travel internationally?

Requirements vary by country, but typically include:
ISO 11784/11785 microchip (must be implanted before rabies vaccination)
Up-to-date rabies vaccination (timing relative to travel is critical)
Veterinary health certificate issued within a specific window before travel (usually 7–10 days)
Rabies antibody titre test result (required by some countries, must be done 3–6 months in advance)
Import permit from the destination country
Export health certificate from your country of origin
We prepare a complete, personalised document checklist for your specific route. Nothing gets missed.

  • Will my pet need to go into quarantine at the destination?

t depends on the destination country and your pet’s documentation. Countries including Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Singapore, Hawaii, and the UK operate managed quarantine programmes. Many EU countries, East African nations, and Gulf states do not require quarantine if documentation is complete and in order. We will tell you exactly what to expect for your route and where quarantine is required, we manage the booking, logistics, and welfare visits.

  • Can I track my pet during the journey?

Yes. For ground transport, we share a live GPS tracking link from the moment your pet departs. For air travel, your dedicated specialist sends updates at each key milestone: check-in, departure, transit/layover, customs clearance, and final arrival. You’ll never be left wondering. Your specialist is also reachable by WhatsApp throughout the entire journey.

  • How much does international pet relocation cost?

Costs vary depending on your pet’s size and species, the origin and destination, transport method, crate requirements, and documentation complexity. As a general guide:
Straightforward air relocation (EU routes): from €600–€1,200
Intercontinental air relocation: from €1,500–€3,500+
Ground transport (European routes): from €800–€2,000+
Full door-to-door white glove package: quoted individually
We provide fully itemised, fixed-price quotes; what we quote is what you pay. Request yours free of charge, with no obligation.

  • What if my pet has a health condition or is elderly?

We work with many pets who have ongoing health conditions, reduced mobility, or are in their senior years. We take a conservative approach with these animals, assessing whether air travel is appropriate, choosing the calmest routes, planning shorter travel windows, and ensuring handlers are fully briefed on any special needs. In some cases, ground transport is the far better option. We’ll give you an honest recommendation.
